OnStar Brings the Power of 4G LTE to the Chevy Volt

Combining with the pwer of 4G LTE, OnStar is looking to take the idea of vehicle connectivity to a whole new level. This will allow consumers to access software such as Skype, while on the road.
There is a currently a Chevrolet Volt being used as a research vehicle. It contains three different content "zones" where the driver can stream music, and the rear passengers can control their own entertainment from personal screens mounted on the seats infront.

They are also working with Smart Grid technology  to create a home control system, connecting driver's to their home thermostat, lights, garage door, etc. These options are currently conceptual, but they demonstrate future possibilities powered by On Star.

Currently OnStar's Remote Link mobile app gives owners of select Chevy models the ability to start start their vehicle, control door locks, and check diagnostics from nearly anywhere.
